Mosta Parish News 7 – 14 October – English Version
SUNDAY (7) There will be the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. At 5.30 pm a sung Mass will be celebrated after which a procession with the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary will take place, passing through Pjazza Rotunda, Triq il-Kbira, Triq Stivala, Triq Dun Ang Camilleri, Triq Barrieri, Triq Gafà, Triq Kungress Ewkaristiku, to the Basilica. During the procession the rosary will be prayed.
MONDAY (8) A start of the scholastic year Mass for all children attending Cathecisim centres, at the Basilica at 5.00 pm.
WEDNESDAY (10) Formation meetings for women will continue at Mustina at 10 am. All women are invited to attend these meetings.
WEDNESDAY (10) The last biblical catechism meeting on scenes from Jesus’s life in the gospels will take place, this as depicted in the pendents of Giuseppe Calì in the sanctuary of the Mosta Basilica. The meeting will be led by Fr Paul Sciberras and will take place at the Mosta Basilica at 7.15 pm.
THURSDAY (11) On the occasion of the last vision of Our Lady of Fatima, a Mass and adoration will take place at 9.30 am in the Basilica.
FRIDAY (12) A meeting for parents of children who will receive the First Communion will take place at the Oratory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, at 7.00 pm.
SATURDAY (14) A seminar for adoloscents who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation will take place at the Zokkrija School in Mosta, between 4.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
SUNDAY (15) A feast will take place at Wejda Church in Triq it-Torri. Mass for the feast will be celebrated at 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.
Wednesday (10) Youths born between 2014 and 2015 are invited to be part in a new ZAK group. Żgħażagħ Azzjoni Kattolika is a youth organization as part of the Catholic Action in Malta. This group is going to meet every Wednesday at 6:30p.m. at the Sacred Heart Oratory.
Whoever wishes to carry a statue during the Good Friday processions of 2019 and 2020, as well as pilgrimage statutes of the Redeemer and in the Risen Christ manifestation, must collect an application form from the Parochial Office on Sunday, 14 October, between 10.30 am and 11.00 am.
The leaflet – Flimkien- with the parish’s insert has been distributed in your homes. It includes a parochial programme for the month of October, and provides a detailed account of the projects which took place in the Basilica, as well as an appeal and an envelope for our donations to aid the missions. The envelope with the donation will be collected by street leaders or may be handed in directly at the parochial office or at the Basilica.
Pope Francis has launched the Jubilee Year of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga which will go on till March of next year. This youth was born into a noble family but rejected frivolous honours and material trappings. He became a Jesuit when he was still a student in Rome, and started helping and carrying plague victims, dying at the age of 23. The Church declared him the patron of youths, as well as the patron of AIDS victims.
Let us pray for Andrew Howard and Georgina Grech who have passed on to eternal life. Oh Lord grant them…
